There are times when I form a different
Enough for me to know that it has changed
Opinion on the matter at hand
I watch the coffee confronted by milk
As my type of thirst alters so slightly
But I cannot remember how it was
Just seconds ago or how divisive
As that of soap boxer to gentle mime
To inspire the want to alter my job
From one trying to escape from a box

I didn't imagine bringing a friend
Is a sky tht numbers stop when they spot
Into this which the friends came away from
One lent me a bicycle and a coat
If I tried to stop them it would be wrong
We'll play pinball together Saturday
Afternoons and talk about our most loves
Who had left us or we thought we had left
Saying romantic words like the body
Or some phrases that make no sense at all

The window is small and of a poor glass
Doubt strong with its interruption in church
Now spiders don't seem to mind the humble
It is so red I may be inside the
Nature of my boarding situation
Still amazed each time I enter the room
To get out of here would be a good thing
Self with a flashlight for what warmth of it
I am allowed to have along with this
To stay will probably turn out the same

We have been living for quite some time here
To move from this used page to a fresh start
They tell where we are presently going
Trying to remember if time alone
Flips back to the underscored passages
We might want close company of our past
Say the cracks in the floor of some old clothes
Today I wrote my name in a prayer book
With a pen I won in competition
That says the day and how I fared in it
